The buzzing city of Singapore is filled with unique personalities and design styles being brought to life by talented interior designers. But one cannot overlook the modern, minimalist feel of Project Efron at Chua Chu Kang, which exudes an air of sophistication and refined simplicity.
As a team, we took inspiration from the client's preference for sleek, modern aesthetics which set the tone for the material palette. Stainless steel, vinyl and ceramic tiles were selected as the main materials, and were skillfully incorporated into the space to create clean, crisp lines. Playing off the modern theme, we chose a predominantly grey, dark wood and stone color scheme to keep that luxurious feel. A monochromatic theme ensures the overall design remains consistent, with each element complementing the others.
The clients wanted a contemporary ambiance with unique patterns, so we introduced hexagons and stripes into the design, to create a sense of visual interest that draws one's attention to the details. While the hexagonal patterns were applied mainly on the floor tiles, the stripe pattern was used to bring life to the curtains.
To craft a cohesive space, we introduced statement pieces made from wood and glass which added more texture and warmth while allowing light to filter through. The wood panels also served to divide the spaces and added another dimension of depth to the design.
As a team of designers, we pride ourselves in creating designs that are a perfect blend of functionality, versatility and style, and Project Efron certainly represents that. The end result is a modern and sophisticated space that meets the needs of our clients and one that we are proud to have designed.
